Drip..swag..yeah i think you get the point.Fashion model is anyone who poses to display clothing, either on stage or in photographs. New York Fashion Week, held in February and September of each year, is a semi-annual series of events when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press, and the general public.Social media is the new advertising medium in the modeling industry where follower count is king, so make sure you are building up your brand every chance you get. 

Runway

“You are no longer in the running toward becoming America’s next top model.” If that sounds familiar, you probably grew up watching america’s next top model with tyra banks. This show was a staple in runway culture because it gave the public a behind the scenes look at some things that go into making this industry what it is. Interestingly enough, they preferred that the models they recruited had little experience to make the show more realistic.

Swimsuit

“It was an itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka-dot bikini that she wore for the first time today.” Does that make you think of yoplait yogurt for some reason? Well the good news is you’re not just hungry, that was the theme song for their model who felt comfortable wearing a bikini in a commercial. (Sports illustrated image) Fun fact, in most of those sports illustrated magazine shoots the models get to keep the swimsuits so if you like getting free suits this might be right up your alley.

Parts

It might be time to stop biting your nails and shave those legs after you hear this. The most elite hand models in the world can earn $10,000 for a single day’s shoot. A parts model can be considered as someone who typically models specific body parts as opposed to full body shots to advertise for brands specific articles of clothing or accessories. For the shyer folks out there that are conflicted about modeling, this is one way to satisfy both of those urges to express yourself while remaining anonymous.

Fitness

Did you know a fitness instagram model by the name of Jen Selter is worth over $3 million dollars and makes money via endorsements and social media posts? A fitness model can be described as a person whose physical features allow them to influence others to promote health and wellness. The Largest expo would have to be Arnold Classic Columbus that had over 200 THOUSAND attendees in 2019. So if you like to shred your body into perfection, might as well make a buck while doing something you love.

Commercial

“Are you in good hands?”. This commercial had me debating car insurance options in my living room at 11 years old. A commercial actor is someone hired to serve the marketing needs of a specific company. Geico might be one of the most memorable by having a computerized gecko be their spokesperson which boosts their brand awareness in addition to creating a lasting impression. Although you can’t be the next big gecko, you can definitely dip your toes in the acting world through commercials because you never know who might be watching. 

Promotional

“The Subway diet, combined with a lot of walking, worked for Jared. We’re not saying this is for everyone. You should check with your doctor before starting any diet program. But it worked for Jared.” This was the first ad ever aired in January 2000 by subway with Jared as part of the Eat Fresh campaign. A promotional model is a model hired to drive consumer demand for a product, service, brand, or concept by directly interacting with potential customers. You can almost argue that besides the footlong concept, this campaign really put subway on the map in terms of being a competitive option for eating that’s delicious as well as healthy.(We promise this is not an ad for the subway…) Imagine being able to enjoy a product you already love not only for free but get paid for talking about it, it’s easier to make that a reality than few might think.

Print

This picture to Royalty Nation strikes fear and pride in the same token. It’s kind of like your parents telling you there’s no reason you should have straight As in school. On one hand, at least they think you’re a genius but on the other, you are terrified of what happens if you come home with that report card not looking right. A print model is exactly what it sounds like,a still image of a model used to visualize a company selling intent to the end consumer.
