Engineer
Are we talking about Welding,Civil, electrical..maybe management? TRICK QUESTION, we aren’t talking about any of these actually. A musical engineer helps produce recordings or live performances by balancing and adjusting sound sources using equalization and audio effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement of sound. Craziest part is some of the greatest producers are self taught from nothing but YouTube university and pure determination but now you got us ;).
Mentor
What’s the difference between a mentor and a teacher? A teacher is someone who talks about things they have never done but a mentor talks about things they do everyday. It’s important to have a confidant when indulging in a new path so make sure to do some research when finding a mentor. It can save you a lot of time and headaches by learning from their mistakes because history typically repeats itself.

Golden Ticket
No not the one from Willy wonka..don’t get too excited. “Anything I touch turns to gold” is the best way to describe the Golden ticket. Think of people like Dr.Dre or Kanye West because working with these two cultural icons almost guaranteed instantaneous success. If you want to blow up your career this is a sure fire way to get the fuse lit.
Musician
Let’s talk about Kanye west for a second. Arguably one of the most impactful and best rappers of all time or as he likes to say “the next Walt disney”. Is that a reach? Fortunately, we aren’t here to debate that but what we will say is that he is a masterful lyricist, producer, musician and engineer all wrapped in one. This is a very difficult task to master but once you are able to you can more accurately capture the Vision you have for a particular sound or feeling you want the song to emulate.

Artist
If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself. Young thug, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, lil Wayne. These are just a few artists who have produced their own songs because they realize the value behind getting involved in every part of the final product. As the rap game changes, more and more artist are choosing to not stick to one lane which will hopefully make the industry that much more versatile for the future.
